CAMEL USTRASANA ![]() Spring is a time of opening our bodies and minds to new ideas and new concepts. Camel Pose stretches the abdomen, chest, and throat which leads to an increase of vitality, love, and expression as well as improved digestion both physically and mentally. In this pose all of the muscles of the back, hamstrings, and glutes are contracted to support this opening. Camel pose utilizes the strength of the back, or what lies behind us, to give us support for this opening and to fully express our true potential. This spring use all of your past experiences to empower and support the opening that is unfolding. While practicing Camel pose, plant a seed of intention and visualize its fruition. Only practice this pose when the body is very warm from sun salutations and standing poses. Always do a twist and then a hip opener or foward bend after practicing Camel pose.
